Medical education in Russia usually takes 6 years for an undergraduate MD or MBBS. The curriculum for the first two years is the same in all faculties. It includes pre-clinical and basic medical sciences, the essential basis for any medical specialty. Medical Specialization from the third year of studies, the curriculum includes propedeutics, biochemistry and pathology (pathological anatomy and pathological physiology) Clinical and special topics, depending on the orientation.

Finally, after completing medical training in Russia, students must state exams in general and special medical topics (depending on the orientation of a particular faculty) will receive a diploma as a physician for general medicine at the Faculty of curative medicine (VRAC), a pediatrician at the Faculty of pediatrics, such as health officer at the Department of Hygiene, as a dentist at the Faculty of Dentistry, or as a pharmacist in the pharmaceutical organization or faculty.
