What are Windows registry? Why are they so important for your operating system and what you can do to make it reliable?

A solution to this kind of problem is to make regular backups of your entire Windows registry. In this way you can easily restore the moment when you feel something is not working correctly. But be careful, because an old backup could cause the latest programs and hardware devices to malfunction.
