The greatest terrorist threats we face around the world on their own doorstep, in our own backyard. They do not make bombs, planes or kidnap hostages to take. But they kill time in record numbers, the 9 / 11 pale in comparison , in view of the large amounts of deaths.

The murderers, the more serious, determined, more stealthy and deadly than any terrorist group in the world has ever met. But World governments are hell-bent on focusing on the fight against terrorism, during a silent epidemic of obesity and other "lifestyle" diseases are killing millions of people. Global terrorism is a real threat, but is far less risk than heart disease, cancer and diabetes, that for 60 percent of global deaths.

These "big three" terrorists kill more than 2,600 Americans per day, the suffering and grief of the families every day, every week. The World Health Organization estimates that 388 million people die from chronic diseases in the next ten years and this is probably not improve unless urgent measures are taken. This process can only be used by governments and large companies to millions of premature deaths due to chronic diseases.

The extensive medical services, which will be needed in the future to care for this epidemic of sick people are still unaffordable to the richest nations in the world. The health systems in developing countries will be overwhelmed sending economies to the wall. These facts are simply too many governments to ignore the impending danger.

It is known that these diseases are preventable, how is it that we allowed ourselves to become so unhealthy? It does not help much that our modern technological society has the most physical activity from our lives. We have access to food, protection and warmth, without us hardly a finger to lift. How can it be that we have labor saving devices that have neglected, however, that our bodies need this "work" or "manual", to stay healthy? If this basic movement is removed and not by intentional physical activity, we begin a downward spiral of declining health.

Without the physical "work" to strength, between 300-500 grams of muscle tissue is lost per year. This change in the composition of the body not only siphons away our strength, but lowers our metabolism and weaken our immune system exposed to disease and illness.

Until recently, the scientific and medical communities, the muscle strength and mass for granted. The steady loss of muscle as we earlier did not even have a name until 1988. In the coming years, sarcopenia is expected as one of the biggest health problems of the world. It is suddenly a very hot topic in aging research, because it is a devastating effect on the quality of the last 10 -20 years of a person's life.

One of the most challenging public health problems, like the officers to nearly 70 percent of the world who do not regularly exercise to move. By now everyone knows exercise is good for them, but many do not realize it is a matter of life and death. In other words: do it or die!

In developing countries, shifts to urbanization, not manual labor, high food, and a higher level of inactivity and sedentary life-all to this growing problem. Unless we can re-design an environment and a lifestyle that systematically back into our everyday lives, which, although it self-inflicted world health problem will continue to grow.
