Since moving to a tropical climate, I found something interesting: I have an appetite for raw garlic. I've always been like garlic in my raw food dishes and have them medically to cure an ear infection. But in Living Bali I eat a few cloves of raw garlic at least twice a week.

I was curious why this unexpected craving so I have some research and discovered that raw garlic has powerful medicinal properties with some major health benefits.

Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is a part of the lily family and is the medical use goes back to 4000 BC. It grows well in almost any climate, it is known throughout the world. Hippocrates, the founder of western medicine, the garlic in some cancer therapies. In ancient Egypt was garlic as a general health tonic and sometimes even as currency.
